1) Company Track Record
How much experience does the service provider have? Have they been around for decades, or did they just pop up in recent years? Are they an industry giant with millions of customers, or a smaller organization with more of a personal touch?
2) Bang for Your Buck
While it’s still nice to have the lowest overall price point, it’s more important to pack as much value as possible into your LLC service package.
We always weigh the total cost of a service against the included features, but it’s still ultimately up to you as a business owner to determine whether you’ll use any of those additional features enough to mitigate the price difference.
3) Registered Agent Service
Every LLC in America needs to designate a registered agent, which is a person or entity that receives important government documents on behalf of your business.
Some service providers like IncFile include a full year of registered agent service with any LLC package. Some others like BizFilings include six months of registered agent, but many don’t include it at all.
4) User-Friendly Experience
We’re always looking for companies that have a high ease of use that allows you to quickly and confidently purchase the package you need from their website.
But this user-friendliness also extends to how well they explain the order process, how many upsells they attempt, their turnaround times, etc.
5) Customer Feedback
Reading customer reviews is always a great way to get a feel for what a given company’s client experience is like, but it’s also important to examine why certain companies garner their positive or negative reviews.
Also, the volume of reviews is worth noting, because larger sample sizes carry more weight.
6) Customer Support
Some service providers offer 24/7 support, but others have limited availability. Some companies provide phone support, but others restrict you to email or web chat options.
Most importantly, some of these services handle their own customer support in-house, while others outsource their support to third-party call centers that often aren’t even located in the United States.
